We're celebrating our daughters 6th birthday party on sunday. I'm looking for a good idea for a cake.. other then barbie and hannah montana. Something she'll think is the best.

Does she like cookies? Have a cookie decorated cake.

Make the layers look like her favorite cookie.

Get some large bakery cookies, tubes of icing and let the guests decorate their own. Really into baking, let the guests decorate the cookies after you bake them.

White filled oreo cookie cake.

Punch bowl cake if she likes strawberries and coolwhip.

Banana pudding parfaits

Ice cream cookie cakes.

Baked Alaska

Little pies with white  icing tubes for guests to decorate.

Gingerbread men to decorate

Layered petifour like you see around the winter holiday.

Cupcakes made in ice cream cones and then have ice cream sundaes.Portion and serving control.

Just make sure that whatever type of cake that you choose is one that she likes.

What about a cake with an edible photo on it like Hello Kitty, Care Bears or her favorite childhood toy? Many high-end deli/bakeries can do that inexpensively.

Go to your grocery's bakery and order a "cupcake cake" - cupcakes pushed together and frosted as one cake on top.  Much easier to serve, and for kids to eat.  They'll do whatever theme you want .......Butterfly?    Flower?   Dora?   a beach theme?  what does she like?

You can get some pretty cool cakes in the shape of butterflies or something.  These cakes usually have really cool frosting and look great.

Stacked cakes are always fun and like no other...  Make one like a wedding cake, but the stacks are squared and each stack looks like its going to fall off the other.. Make the cake a green color with lots of pink pearls and some polka dots??  If I can find a pic I will give you the link.

Why don't you request for a custom-made cake of your daughter's face tweaked to look like a princess or a fairy? I am very sure that it will please her to no end seeing her own face in print. After all, as it is her birthday, she should get to be the princess.
