Question:

Losing connection all the time?

Hi, i have a problem with my Internet Connection but i just can't figure out the solution. I don't think there is anything wrong with the router or my service provider. I was told by someone who lives nearby that it is because we live in an area that is not near to where you receive good signal but we don't live in the hills or somewhere extreme, just in a normal village. It's really frustrating because when i'm on xbox live playing games online for example, it will just randomly disconnect me from the game which is extremely annoying. Has anyone got any ideas of what could be wrong? Thanks

  1. 1) Check for devices that can generate RF interference, wireless phones in the 2.4 g spectrum, nursery monitors etc.  try separating the router and modem by about 3 feet.

    2) Check for firware updates to your router.

    3) try adjusting placemant of the router to get better signal coverage, like higher on the wall etc

  2. Is it wireless, thats usually the problem if your losing connection all the time

  3. All wireless connections have problems when there is too much heat and they get too slow too, my wireless connection last summer was almost dead!

  4. Contact your service provider. This is the best way.

  5. cmmi tutorials-

  6. Find out the WEP or WPA key that your router uses for wireless security.

Call up you internet service provider and they'll tell you.

So once you've found out the passphrase (key) enter it in  "Network settings"   and find your router and it should ask for a passphrase and when you enter the correct one, you should have a better connection.

The reason why it fails when you are not properly connected is because your wireless adapter is just sending signals back and forth to the router or gateway.

You see, because once you are properly connected the router will send you info and give you a better signal.

    Hope this helps
