I can't get any grants because my parents both make too much money but its not like they actually have it because they have bills to pay and both have bad credit and collection agencies to pay off. They're straightening everything out but I've already tried to get grants and it not work. I believe i'm smart enough to get scholarships but it seems that the kids that get those most of the time are the ones that parents dont' need it. I've tried applying for scholarships and have never got anywhere. I don't really know what else to do i've looked into joining the military and they dont' want me because of surgery i got. Please help!

  1. Once you file your own tax return apply ASAP for a FAFSA on line or you can pick up the paperwork for filing at the college make sure you get the college number for the application. Until you separate yourself from your parents for college reasons I don't know what else to tell you and you might only want to have one job because the less you yourself make the more you get.

  2. Have you tried getting a loan from the bank? I'm pretty sure that'll work.

  3. Get a job.

  4. Unfortunately, you may need to get a loan.  Every dependent student, no matter what, can get a $5500 loan.  Call financial aid at your school.  Also, look at scholarships within your department.

  5. Go to a local college & work part time after you finish your 2 yrs at community use the money you saved to go to a "better" college.

Also maybe you can earn credit at a commnuity college & then get a scholorship

also try extracurricular activities-they really look at that besoides just academic acheivements-like look to see how well rounded your life/interetsts are
