Do the jackpot winners have to pay taxes to the government for their winnings? Thanks.

  1. No, all lottery winnings are tax-free.  But, if you invest the money you will have to pay tax on any interest earned.


  2. No.  You pay tax on income, and, unless you are a professional punter, gambling winnings are not income.

  3. I'll be. I thought for sure the Australian Government would tax it to the point where you owed them money. You have restored my faith. lol.
