Lousy qualifying?

Question

Junior didn't qualify so well...it didn't help that he was first on the track. He wasn't too happy.

Kyle just qualified 26th (and it's not over yet), very upset and complaining about his car.

Do you think either one will finish in the top 20 when it's all over? (not bashing...just asking)

i'm kinda shell shocked that Kasey took the pole. There's gonna be some fun guys over driving their cars. Keep an eye on the #12

It's so hard to tell with this race. Last year Juan Pablo started in the 30's, so qualifying isn't everything, especially if it becomes a fuel mileage race.

Just because your drivers didn't do well doesn't make it lousy for the rest of us.

Im willing to bet that both will finish in the top 20. Jr is not a bad road racer at all and neither is Kyle. Good luck to both those guys.

Fuel mileage, fuel mileage, fuel mileage.  That's all road courses are about anymore...

And we all know who NOT to count out when it comes to fuel mileage.  Go 88!!!

I bet both end up finishing better than where they start, this "race" meaning road course is one of strategies and these boys know what they need to do to get there.

Jr has never finished well here, so that's no surprise.

But for Kyle?  They just announced on speed tv that he had a piece of tape on his car that the officials forgot to remove during inspection.  Expect to see him return to the track in a second.

As for the top 20?  I say definitely for Kyle and yes to Jr.

Am I missing something? NASCAR.com says Kasey is in first and Jr is in 11th.

Actually 12th isn't bad. I would rather see him qualify conservatively and then drive the race with a consistent attitude working his way to the front and hitting his marks than starting off in the front and then struggling.

Jr is doing ok so far he is in 11th. A top 15 or so is ok for Jr at a road course.  

As far as the finish top 20 yes.  Both will be top 15

yeah qualifying is sucking and we all know this isn't Jr's favorite track or one he does real well at and I agree with winter on Kyle he does better coming from the back of the pack I just hope we see them do well on Sunday!!

I don't see why not! I mean this is a strategy race. You think they qualified bad my favorite driver Tony is in 31st and I'm sure he will fall back even more when qualifying is all said and done!

Junior has the momentum from this year going for him, but he still dosn't do very well, as for Kyle Busch, I just wouldn't be surprized with this boy, it seems he can do anything. I see them both in the top 10.

I think both of them will finish inside the top 20.

For Kyle, he does better when he has to come from the back of the pack, it fuels him. I like it better when he qualifies in the 15th-20th starting position, but 26th? It's 28th now! I think he'll be okay.

If Jr. listens to his crew chief, (seems to run better when he does) I think he'll have a decent finish, too.

I'd bet that both of them finish in the top 10.

Well It used to be all about the qualifying, but I guess it isn't that way anymore since JPM started from way back in the feild and won it. So I guess right now anything can happen.
