Lovebird is Missing!?

Question

ok, i had 2 lutino peach faced lovebirds.the guy is honey, the girl is lemon. one day, the honey opened the cage door using his mouth, then ,lemon flew out. i couldent catch lemon cuz im short, so my father tried. lemon was very scared so she flew away.

it has been 2 days since lemon flew away. i have been giving honey etra attention.will he be ok?

if you live near holland grove road (near henry park primary school), please please tell me if have seen lemon. Thx

note: the birds were bought from a shop and have always been together.

I doubt if your lovebird will survive .. Unless it is very lucky to be found.. these birds have been raised in captivity. I am so sorry on your loss.

Once a lovebird has a mate they will not be the same after that mate is lost or dies, the mate will either morn it's self to death or will become some what like a little zombie, he'll eat but that's about it.

The female is more than likely long gone, I'm very sorry for this. Be ready to have a very depressed bird, don't try to give him another mate either because he will refuse it and may end up hurting it.

Maybe your lady bird will come back or you will find her, good luck and I hope that you are able to find her again.

You could try leaving your window open and putting the cage by the window so if she is around she could hear the male sing for her. That's a long shot but you never know it may work.
