Lump underneath ear?

for as long as i can remember iv had a pea sized lump under my left ear. the thing is, when i press it sort of hurts. my dad had a tumour near his ear a couple of years back. i was wondering if there was any chance this lump could be dangerous.

I had one there and doc sent me for a scan and was told inflamed lymph node and then they done a fine needle biopsy, obviously looking for cancer but it came back negative and then they wanted to remove it but I refused so they done another scan and it had gone, I had the year from h**l with worry - they did find out I have an underactive thyroid gland and after test found type 2 diabetes. It could be any one of hundred of things you have so see a doctor and get the correct diagnoses but meantime don't worry about it.

you really need to go to your doctor,it is probably a benign cyst,but until you know for sure it will allways worry you.
