My wife and I want to go to a nice place for lunch in NYC on Saturday. Moderate price place would be nice. Want an experience more than wonderful food. We will be in Rockefeller Center area. We have one day in the city and want to enjoy.

Thanks

  1. Try the Boathouse restaurant in Central Park, great view and it's supposed to be a beautiful day on Saturday.  ( ;

  2. this isnt exactly in rockafeller center, its in central park, but its called the tavern on the green, its an awesome resturant.

  3. Tavern on the Green is a historic place... But there food is really really expensive.  For the price, I did not think that the food was all that good.  Any Italian restaurant in the Rockefeller/ Mid-town Manhattan area will be your best bet.

  4. Okay I live 2 blocks away from rock center.

    Ruby Foos - Contemporary Asian - reasonably priced and great food...the the atmosphere is killer. It's sooooo pretty in there.

    Sea Grill - Seafood - It's down by where the skating rink is....good but kinda expensive and not particulaly normal with their entrees. More for the experience.

    Aquavit - Sweedish - It's not really by rock center, it's 65 East 55th Street, but very walkable. It's fantastic and they have a great pre-fix lunch menu. Trendy interior.

    There are so many good places....

    P.S. Tavern on the Green is a tourist trap...the food is gross and it's ulgy inside. Just take a stroll in the park....and if you end up eating there, go to The Boat House. Much classier and that's where the real NYers go.
