  1. Not if the love you feel is real love. Then the two are amazingly harmonious and unbelievably powerful. It only happened once. We were together 5 years- then he died. I have never felt that way about anyone again.

I would say that we are first taken by lust (a desire for the physical features for the person) - in fact, that's what first attracts us, a cute smile, a handsome face, great body - and the emotional investment comes later. The reason it's called an investment is because it takes time, much like any other financial investment, to realize the full potential.

    I know some people claim that they aren't interested in s*x, and that's perfectly alright. I can't say I'm in the same boat, since my relationships definitely have a sexual component to them. But maybe for those people who have "sexless" arrangements, it might seem that lust and love would be at odds. But I think most of us start out with physical attraction, then emotional satiety. That would mean one leads to the other.
