If a creature with Doublestrike attacks and is unblocked if it were a 1/1 would it deal 2 damage total?

Also as a side note, could you regenerate a create from the graveyard if you had to discard it, and would that creature suffer from summoning sickness?

Thanks for all your help.

  1. Doublestrike deals damage twice, once as first strike and the other in normal combat, so yes the person would take two damage from a 1/1 creature.

A creature in the graveyard can not be regenerated, only when the creature is in play can it be regenerated. Regeneration only prevents the destruction of the creature from damage, as long as the cost is payed.

  2. First, yes. An unblocked 1/1 with double strike will deal 2 damage to the defending player (for the 1st strike damage, the other for the regular damage).

You can not regenerate a creature on the graveyard. Once a creature is in the graveyard it can not be regenerated (doesn't matter if it was destroyed, discarded, etc). You can only regenrate creatures that are in play and you will have to pay the adequate regeneration costs. If you bring a creature from the graveyard to play (for example using makeshift manekin) it will still have summoning sickeness.

  3. what double strike means is that it will deal first strike damage first and then deal regualr damage.  If you attacked with a 1/1 double striker and they don't block, then you would deal 1 first strike damage to the player and then 1 regular damage to the player for a total of 2.  If you attacked with a 1/1 double striker and they block with a 2/1, your 1/1 would live because it dealt 1 first strike damage to that creature, killing it, before the 2/1 could deal it's 2 damage to your creature.

You cannot regenerate any creature unless it's in play and only if it's allowed to.  Cards like Wrath of God does not let you regenerate creatures, so no matter how you try, it will not regenerate.

If you discard the card, there is no chance for you to regenerate it.
