Mac photo upload problem?

Question

Okay I have been trying to upload pictures on myspace for about 2 days now and I just thought it was a Myspace update then I tried E-mailing them to my brother and he also has a Mac and it worked there so I now know that it is a local problem then later I tried to upload them to Fliker and they also wouldn't work so then I thought it was a safari problem so I downloaded firefox that wasn't it so now I have no idea what is wrong. So can someone tell me if they know what is wrong with my computer. Is it a preference thing? Or what?

Oh and the same thing happens no matter where I try to upload the pictures. I click chose file then window that lets me select the pictures pops up and a bout a second later it disappears right off the screen and I try to click it agin and then nothing happens. So someone please help me.

possibly need to update java and flash players,
