  1. "Friend of Greeks":)

    Are you joking with me?

What is the point of your question?

He was one of the most famous kings of Macedonia....

  2. Ancient Macedonian King Alexander I was not Alexander the Great. He was his ancestor. Alexander the Great was Alexander III and was the king of all Greeks. Alexander I was called Philhellen (=Φιλέλλην), which means friend of Greeks. That was a title given to greek kings to honour their contribution to all greeks.

Herodotos reports that Alexander I was the negotiator between the Persians and the southern Greeks, who were still unconquered by the Persians, before the battle of Marathon. Macedonia was then a minor kingdom which was conquered by Persians (so were the Thessalians, the Ionians, the Aeolians etc.) and since Alexander I was greek, Persians sent him to ask the Athenians to surrender. They denied but he also proposed them to surrender as he knew the strength of the persian army, he was a friend of Athens and wanted to protect them. Finally, Athenians, Spartans and the other southern Greeks beat the Persians and the persian army returned to Asia.

  4. He was the king of Macedonia (part of the Greek area) who united most of Greece and went on to conquer the Middle East down into Egypt and even over into India.

  5. Alexanders father was Phillip the king of Macedonia, who was invited to take charge of the military establishment of Greece. when Philip died, some say at the hand of Alexander, Alexander inherited the title of king of Macedonia and Captain General of Greece.

  6. you need fix that question cause i think you're talking about Alexander the great son of Philip II of Macedon and Olympia who conquered Greece and Europe as well as some parts of Asia almost as far as India i believe.
