The QPR striker has urged his fellow teammates to concentrate on their upcoming games or risk the chance of dropping down to the Championship.
Loftus Road has carved a gloomy picture in recent weeks, with an impending axe on Mark Hughes’ http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 edging ever closer.
The Welsh tactician kept the R’s afloat last season by virtue of their last game against Manchester City and has since then sought to remedy the problem by signing several top quality players over the summer.
However, despite the presence of some talented individuals, the team has failed to function as a solid unit and now find themselves stuck in the lower half of the Premier League table once again.
Hughes’ men have failed to secure three points on any occasion this term and the fans are now calling for the former Manchester City’s boss head.
Owner http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Fernandes is also reportedly keen to bring Harry Redknapp to the helm and keeping recent results in mind that could happen sooner rather than later.
While the managerial change will surely affect the club’s lethargic atmosphere, striker Jamie Mackie claims that the troops must improve or choose to be relegated when the time comes in May.
"Obviously this club is thinking big but first and foremost we're in a scrap and everyone needs to realise that. We need to roll our sleeves up and really scrap to get ourselves out of it rather than have visions of playing a lot higher.”
Continuing, Mackie claimed that the Hoops had secured victories against top opponents last term and there was no reason why they can’t replicate that now.
"We beat top sides at home last season, deservedly, we played very well at times, but it's not a given that we can do that again. It's an opportunity now to get points on the board and make sure we do that because before you know it we'll be playing top
sides again,” he said.
After struggling to find the back of the net, Hughes maybe shown the door in the next few days, paving the way for Redknapp's arrival, who has the capability to change things at the helm.
