Make a site like eharmony?

i really wanna make a website for my school that finds them good matches to date from our school. does anyone know how to make a site that as compatability tests that automaticlly make good matches?

You will most likely need to outsource your work. That's not exactly a small project.

You would need the following:

- XHTML knowledge for creating the site

- CSS knowledge for formatting and layout (making it look purty)

- PHP or ASP knowledge

- MySql knowledge

I'm just learning PHP and MySql but I believe the concept of MySql is that it will work with PHP to build a database where you would store information about individuals. When a person were to create a profile, it would probably ask them personality questions (I've never used eHarmony) and compare them to other users who have already created a profile. Finally it would return results to the user of most compatible, least compatible, etc.

It would be a lot of work for one person. Don't get your hopes down. If your school is anything like mine was, there should be plenty of people that are capable with a small team. You'll just have to bribe them with Magic The Gathering cards or whatever they play now-a-dayss :P
