I don't like wearing a lot of heavy makeup...

I have a black tie dinner dance findraiser thing that I'm working at my work tonight.

I go to it dressed up, and figure I should dress up my makeup a little bit as well

I'm either wearing that dress, or a little black body hugging dress with spaghetti straps.

I have fair skin, and dark brown, almost black hair.

How should I do my makeup, and how should I do my hair?

(its about 5/6 inches past my shoulders, with bangs down to my top lip that I'm trying to grow out)

  7. okay well.

you could wear a dark or black eyeliner

and maybe try a smokey eye

they have how to videos on youtube

and maybe a plumish or peachish lip color

and id do your hair in a side parted bun

and maybe put a pretty headband on it for a little extra oomph.

  8. Hmmm for some reason its not letting me see the dress but thats okay.. the dress doesn't matter, the hair and the make-up do.

First of all we need to work on your make-up.

The fisrt thing you need to do is use some cover-up/foundation to hide any blemishes or flawsthat your skin might have.  Use it sparringly however, just enough to cover it up and make sure to blend well.

Next, make your eyes up.  They will be the focal point of your face so you always want to do them after you put on your concealer.

What color are your eyes??  If they are brown you will want to use browns and golds.  Same with green/hazel eyes.  If they are blue you will want to use blacks and greys.

Get a gel based eyeshadow pen i.e. Cover eye slicks in a light color.  Shade your eyelid from bottom to just over the crease and blend it in with finger.

Next line your eyes.  Use either the dark brown eye liner or the black (depending on your eye color).  Line top and bottom.  Then smudge the bottom lid with a sponge tip i.e. Cover girls perfect blend eyeliner works the best for me.

Now you are going to take a very small eye shadow brush and brush the eye shadow from the line you made on your lid to the crease (either dark golden brown or a smokey grey).  Throw on some black eyeliner and you are set with your eyse!

Finish your make-up with a neutral colored lip gloss, that way the focus is still on your eyes, and you could light blush.

    For your hair:

Since this is formal you will more than likely want your hair in some kind of up-do.  First I would use a volumizing mouse on wet hair and blow dry it until it is completely dry.  Then I would run a straightener through it, making sure to do it in sections.  Then I would take those long bangs and clip them back (on the top/center) of my head using two clips crisscrossing eachother to hold you hair in place.  You can either throw the rest of your hair in a bun or leave it down.
