Making a dvd of digital pictures?

I just came back from a cruise and want to make a dvd of the pictures I took. I want it to include music and effects. What's the best and the easiest free program or software to make this dvd?

Windows Movie Maker on MS Windows, and iMovie and iDVD in iLife on Apple Macs are your best bets ad they come free with those computer systems

There's not much free stuff - you could use Windows Movie Maker to make a video and then use DVD Flick to author a DVD from it.  VSO PhotoDVD is a nice "quick and dirty" app,  ProShow Gold is probably the best  known.
