  1. a mallet putter has better forgiveness on mishits but usually not the feel of a blade.

  2. a putter is only a good as the hands that hold it.  Check the pros and its about half and half..  I have used both and I feel no difference.  Grant M in Pennsylvania.

  3. One of the things about a mallet putter is that it is slightly heavier that a blade putter, this means that you can make a smaller stroke (or not swing the putter as hard), and this helps keep the ball on-line. I like not having to hit the ball hard and this helps with my accuracy. Some people have a great putting stroke and dont need the heavier putter - but I'm not one of those.

  4. Well a mallet putter is for someone who has a weaker stroke OR someone who's stroke is known to go out to in etc, however we all know that pro's use both types of putters, it depends on what you like or what works for you better. The blade putter has a totally different feel to it, you can feel the ball roll more etc.

i personally have 1 mallet odessy #9, and the Yes! forged callie putter, which i use 1 when i'm playing at home in the UK and 1 out here at college is USA, so it depends on personal preference, i don't think you could say 1 is worse than the other.

  5. I use mallet and I find it easier to setup square with it.  The heavier head helps to keep the wrist quiet, and the perimeter weighting helps on slight mishits to keep it rolling the same distance, and resist twisting.

  6. It's all a matter of personal preference.  I used a blade for years and switched to a mallet a couple of years ago.  For about 6 months I wanted to pitch the thing into the nearest lake but I persevered and finally am putting well with it.

  7. I just like the shape more than anything.  I found one that felt really good and have used it since 2004.

  8. i prefer mallet but it is all personal preference
