Question:

Manchester Victoria to Manchester Piccadilly?

I need to travel between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly each day for a new job i am starting next week. I have 2 questions... 1) How long does the metro take between these 2 station, 2) If i walked between the 2 stations, how long would that take. Hope someone can help.... cheers.

  1. It's a perfectly walkable distance. I could cut it down to ten minutes but I'm lanky and over 6ft.

    The Metrolink would have it down to five minutes and is very frequent during peak times.

    There is also a shuttle bus too.

I wouldn't have thought that there's all that much difference in the time it would take to walk, and taking the Metrolink, since there's three intermediate tram stops - Shudehill, Market St, and Piccadilly Gardens, and the trams often have to wait at the lights for a minute or two before crossing London Road and entering Piccadilly station. It would probably be quicker to walk down Jutland St, Brewer St, Port St, Stevenson Square, Thomas St, Shudehill and Balloon St down to Victoria.

  3. It's only about 15 minutes walk.  I think the metro system would be a but of a fuss and it'd be easier to walk.  I think the Metro only takes about 5 minutes though, saying that.  I never took it myself, I've only ever walked between the two, it's not far at all
