Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 reportedly went on to get infuriated with the way Stoke City played against City and has gone on to avoid making any comments after the game.
The game between City and Stoke went on to end as a one all draw and this allowed City to go on top of the league table, with their superior goal difference helping them leapfrog Manchester United.
During the game against the Potters, Mancini was often spotted showing his annoyance at the way Stoke approached the game and as a result, the manager avoided making any comments about the game, since he feared he might say something, which he could regret
later on.
Platt, when talking on behalf of the manager is quoted to have said: "He is worried he might say something that might get him in hot water.”
"He was just a bit hot afterwards and once he calms down, he will be fine.”
"You know how these things go: if he comes in and something goes out of the way or gets lost in translation."
Platt then admitted that this minor setback was not going to prove to be vital in the title race, since there was still a long way to go.
He also admitted that Manchester United were more than likely to drop a few points in the coming weeks and this was going to give City the boost they need to claim the Premier League crown.
"There is a long way to go and there will be more twists and turns along the way, for certain," he added.
"We will follow our own road as we have been doing all season and win as many games as we possibly can between now and the last match.”
"Our destiny is still well within our own hands, which is all you can ask for at this stage.”
"The lads are positive and we move on to the next game, now."
