Mandurah Virgin?

Hi im moving to mandurah in 6months and need to no what its like. im currently living in england and im 20 years old. does it have a good nightlife and is it a cool place to live? also are the people friendly or am i likley to be given evil looks cos im not from around there??

I live in Mandurah and I'm 22. Theres a couple of clubs, The Toucan and The Players bar, they aren't much compared to Northbridge or Fremantle but theyre ok. Theres heaps of pubs, The Brighton is probably the better pub to go to for younger people. We are all friendly here and its quite easy to meet new friends, last weekend I met a few Scottish people and we are meeting up again soon. Mandurah is more laid back in dress sense than Perth city and when going out you can get away with jeans and a tee. The summers are the best as you regularly find festivals and markets happening at the foreshore (which is also great for bbqs or fish and chips on the park).

Mandurah is 2 and a 1/2 hours away from Busselton and Margaret River and about an hour and a 1/2 drive to Perth (45 minute train ride). Mandurah is not known for its shopping so I'd say grab some surf and skate clothes, jeans and summer wear before you come.

Lol...............no one will give you evil looks just cause youre not from around here!!..........most of the population of Mandurah and Rockingham (the neighboring area) are from somewhere else!  Theres heaps to do around here, just be friendly and open minded and you will fit in just fine.  Welcome to WA!!

I don't think you will be given Evil looks.  It wont

take you long to fit in , i think it is hard when you

haven;t been to school with anybody here.  But

once you work , you will find Australians have a

big dry sense of Humor !

Go to any Surf shop with lots of money, if you want

to buy some clothes that make you fit in with all the

other young people....it's a good start till you find your

own style here....Beein near water Mandurah ...it is a

safe bet to tell you that a lot of water sports and that

kind of thing Fishing and swimming goes on and summer

is like a parade of young and old in brief clothing.  

Mandurah is a holiday or vacation area for a lot of

people from other area's of Perth so it mantains even now

that it is a lot larger suburb , a very summery vacational

atmoshphere.  There is some clubs for your age group

every week end and theres lots of hotels with entertainment.

The main difference in Australia is the young stick to

places where the young go and hotels also have

different areas , you normally don't see a mix in ages.

There are a lot of new very new areas and it is a cool

place to live...For people of Perth Mandurah has always

been a Capital place to go to for the day.....or for a

holiday (vacation) or for crabbing and lucky few who get

live there! Only now with so many new areas in the last

15 years its not so few anymore !!  anyway Welcome
