Question:

Manila-Based SE Asian Businessman Plan???

by  |  earlier

I'm going to be based in Manila, but will be traveling to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and China for business (spending ~25% of my time outside the Philippines, another ~25% of my time outside Luzon).

I need data service + phone service, and was planning getting a Blackberry (although I'm open to other ideas).

I use the phone for ~1000/minutes per month.

Do you know what cellphone plan of what company would make the most sense for me? I have to figure out a plan with reasonable costs. Thanks!!!

  1. If you want a Blackberry Plan call Globe Solutions by Globe Telecom:

    Buy a Blackberry unit outside

The service charge is P400/ month plus 15 cents per kb of data on top of the regular monthly plan (500, 800, 1200, etc). This is very convenient especially for business people who are always on the go and do not have access to the net 24/7.

Smart on the other hand offers SmartLink, a satellite phone service since Smart has better area coverage than Globe. But this is purely for calls and no data, gprs ,etc. If you're going to major cities all the time then go Globe.

  2. PLDT is the best answer to your needs and requirement. You can easily pay a visit to any of the PLDT (Philippine Long Distance Company) offices anywhere in the Philippines. They have a wide range of products that will suit your needs.

Go ahead and enjoy your stay. After all PLDT is our lines through the times, tested and trusted.
