im a red sox fan too but not. their seasons over if they trade him. theres no one they could get back that would be able to fill his spot in the lineup.

No one likes him, except the teams that want him because they know hes a good player, hes an arrogant moron, I wouldn't want him on my team if he was batting 350 all year.

not this year it says no trade in 08-09 season but a trade is possible next year.

I'm sure the Red Sox would trade many if the opportunity presented itself but I just don't see them being able to pull anything off between now and Thursday. Huge if here...but if they can pull something off it would be right at the deadline.

Definately Not. No team has the 1..2 puch like the socks with Ortiz and Manny. They need him to win the world series so they'll keep him this year and decline the $20m. team option for 09. I personally would like to see him go, but it's not going to happen. Sorry

i don't get why red sox fans would want him out.  You really want the Red Sox to become the Mets in the beginning of the season?

Manny provides leadership, and excitement into that clubhouse.  Without him they woudl be a boring team who would lose all will to compete.
