I tried out marijuana for a couple weeks then I stopped. While I was using it I didn't know it was against islam. I quit and I was thinking that I might do it once every month but I found out it was against Islam and haven't done it yet. What can I do to compensate for my sins?

  1. Marijuana is an illegal drug:

This is what the Qur'an says:

    Surah al Maidah {5:91-92}:

"O you who believe! intoxicants, gambling, and DEDICATION TO DRUGS are only an uncleanness, Shaitan's work; shun it therefore that you may be successful."

"Shaitan only desires to cause enmity and hatred to spring in your midst by means of intoxicants and gambling, and drugs, and to keep you off from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you then desist?"

    No more marijuana smoking.

    Peace for all!

  2. "O you who believe! intoxicants, gambling, and DEDICATION TO DRUGS are only an uncleanness, Shaitan's work; shun it therefore that you may be successful."

You know, smoking marijuana isn't only a pastime and an intoxicant (even though most people use it with that purpose). There are a lot of other people who use it to alleviate chronic pain disorders.

  3. turn back (repentance,Taubah)

ask for forgiveness from Allah Allmighty,Allah Is Forgiving ,Compassionate,Redeemer.

  4. How could you not know it was against Islam to smoke Marijuana? OM Goodness :O

Perform fasting in Ramadan and ask Allah for forgiveness if your truly repentant then Allah is the most forgiving and DO NOT do it again.

  5. There is good in it and there is bad. Many experts say marijuana is non addictive drug, there are no physcail addictions. Just the mental wanting of it for someone whos done it for al ong time, btu like if yo u think about it that can be wit anything. Liek reading books, if someone takes your book away and you miss it, are you addicted to it. (small example) Marijuana can be used to spiritual growth. Point of Islam is to get close to Allah, marijuana can be used as a tool for that. Like i said it purely depends on the user, but it is not forbidden. Even though marijauana alters the mind, so does any other food or stimulant. If you were to eat Mcdonalds for 1 month straight and msoked some weed 1  month straight , youll see that Marijauan is not that harmful. Theres got to be balance, cant interfere with Islam or other parts of life. Forbidden becasue intoxicants make you forget about God, makes you go astray. But its definatly possbile to get closer to Allah with marijuana, though its not a neccessity.

  6. i think ur supposed to know drugs lke that are not allowed in islam... just pray for forgiveness and dont do it again

  7. Most enjoyable things are against Islam. I think marijuana is much healthier than ciggarettes. If you feel guilty about just ask for forgiveness and don't do it again.

  8. Smoking anything is haram according to some scholars and makhruh according to others. Most consider it a lesser sin than alcohol. The only punishment for getting drunk is if you go out in public and make a drunken display of yourself, your friends are supposed to beat you with their shoes (according to hadith). But for private sins like smoking or drinking there is no Islamic punishment or specific expiation, although in general, a good deed wipes out a bad deed. Healthwise, the best thing you can do is get some exercise to clear that tar out of your lungs. I congratulate you for giving it up; it's a very expensive habit not to mention bad for your health. But don't beat yourself up too much because in the middle ages, under Islamic rule, marijuana was used as an herbal medicine for many different ailments, and it was cooked into butter and made into sweets. In many Islamic countries, non-medicinal marijuana (hemp) is used to make rope, paper and cloth. You can even run your car on hemp fuel, it's much better than corn as a source of fiber to produce ethanol. Anyway, I have read a lot on this topic. During the time that Ali was Caliph, the Islamic empire extended into regions where marijuana was used. There was never any controls or punishment over growing or using marijuana because the Quran does not outlaw any plant. Nowadays people make fatwas right and left but in the old days, if the Quran didn't specifically outlaw something it was considered a very serious sin to declare it as haram. However, that being said, it is very socially unacceptable among Muslims living in the west and so it is best to avoid it and keep your lungs in good shape. What I'd suggest as a good deed to wipe out your bad deed is, however much money you spent on the herb, donate that much or a bit more to charity. In fact Islamic Relief has a clinic in Afghanistan for rehabilitating drug addicts that you could donate to at irw.org

  9. Ask Allah for forgiveness and stay away from drugs in future.

  10. Just say Tauba and stop doing Marijuana ( d**n its fun ) !!

  11. I'd pray. God is oft forgiving and most merciful. Pray and repent and if you honeslty mean that you won't do it again, then I htink you will be forgiven. Remember that there are two ways you can go in life......away from God and closer to God. it's up to you which way you want to go, and God will judge you accordingly. Hope that helped and good luck!

  12. Allah will forgive you, as long as you never do it again. He is the most forgiving.

  13. Allah is Oft Forgiving and Most Merciful, repentance suffices.

My marijuana, is the 5 daily prayers and remembering Allah.
