Ok now before i say this I don't want any one telling me that my spelling is wrong because that's not what am here for.

OK. I have been with this young man for about 8 months now and he asked me to marry him about 3 months in to our dating and I said Yes. But i was wondering that is it normal for man from India or live in India to have more than two rings on there hands. his rings are on his right hand the 1st one is on his finger next to the pinky. The second one is one the left hand on his pinky.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not but am young and some what naive to these things am afired to think of that but i don't know what to really do I am in love with him.

He says that hes not but I do believe him its just that i dont want to be wrong and the dream i had was even more convincing. Lets make it short. When he would speak to me it would be like a snakes tongue and in my believes my Lord tells me that anything with a snake is bad and harmful.

What should i do. And please no smarta** comment's I need a real answer am so confused and lost with this.

  1. Marriage is not something you want to just make a quick decision on....take your time on this.  It stinks of armpits and curry.

  2. You need to take time to get to know each other better.  I'm in an inter-cultural marriage and despite the xenophobic comments of total strangers on Yahoo! answers, things are just fine.

You just don't know him very well.  Marriage is very serious and very complicated business.  You can't make a decision like that without investing all the time and resources you posess to make sure that it is the right thing to do for the rest of your natural life.  Marriage can be a prison, even in the united states.  Good men and bad men (and women) are in every culture, every country.

Be engaged for 5 years if you want to be engaged. But do not marry until you know ever detail of his life. And you are OK with all of those details.

    Good luck.

  3. I am not trying to be mean. Just a little confused by your question. Are you afraid he is already married? And would you actually live in India with this guy? Your comments suggest that you do not trust this man at all. Honey, you said you were young. Just by reading your question I am like Get Out of It NOW!!! Do not leave America, you won't have any rights if you do. And it sounds like you aren't even comfortable enough with this guy to really talk things out. Run, don't walk. End this thing now. SERIOUSLY!

  4. If you are not sure, then don't get married!

Trust your gut feeling.  It's usually right.

  5. I wouldn't do it on a bet.  I am going to say that before you do anything, make him tell you about those rings.  I knew a man from India once and he was ready to collect another wife and didn't think that there was anything wrong with it at all.  I know they are not all bad, but watch him.
