  1. Martha Stewart made an error in judgement and paid in time and money. She has been mentor for a lot of us American Women, even though our good Mothers took time to teach us a lot of Good Home practices. Martha has taught from any area of good work, from home to garden. I'm sure she could have lessons that would be of definate advantage to the British Women, as well.

  2. Everyone forgets already that she committed a very serious crime.......She's a money grubber. There are a lot more women to use for role models out there than her.

Many countries won't let you in if you are a criminal like she is.

  3. I don't think she applied for a visa, per se.  Some people may just be taking liberty with the expression "denied a visa" to simply indicate that she was told that she would not be allowed to enter or that she is otherwise excludable from the UK.

The UK normally refuses entry to anyone who is convicted of a crime in instances where that crime would have resulted in a jail sentence of twelve months or more if it had been committed in Britain.  Her felony conviction makes her inadmissible.

Many countries exclude people with criminal records.  The US will deny entry to a person who has been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude, or of illegal possession of a controlled substance (no matter how small), regardless of the length of the sentence.
