Javier Mascherano completes his transfer to Barcelona
The tension and frustration of Argentinean skipper, and, defender, Javier Mascherano, has finally come to an end after joining the prestigious Spanish football club, Barcelona.
Mascherano was not feeling comfortable playing in the English League as his wife was having serious problems settling down in England. The twenty-six year old veteran defensive midfielder from Argentina was hunting for a better club outside England and has now successfully moved to a Spanish league club. His transfer from Liverpool football club to Barcelona has definitely brought some relaxation for Liverpool as well as the Liverpool coach was finding it difficult to select the final playing squad for the upcoming matches.
It is to be remembered that the Liverpool manager, Roy Hodgson, was very unhappy and frustrated about the transfer issue of Mascherano. Hodgson has already criticized him over his transfer and called him greedy and selfish. Now the Argentinean skipper has joined the Barcelona club for a huge amount of 17.25 million pounds.
Recently the veteran underwent some serious medical examination before finishing his move to Barcelona. It was a five-hour serious and exhaustive medical examination for Mascherano by Barcelona football club doctor, Ricard Pruna. After the medical clearance Mascherano expressed his happiness and sheer excitement by telling the media that it was a dream for him and he is feeling like never before. He added that the issue of his transfer from Liverpool FC to Barcelona has caused him a great deal of troubles but finally everything has gone according to plan and he is very happy about it. While talking about his new football club and his ambitions for the team, he said that Barcelona is one of the World’s best football clubs and he is feeling very lucky to be able to play for such a prestigious club. Mascherano added that he will try his level best to prove himself as a very good selection for the team. He said that every player has something very good and different in him and he wants to deliver that thing for his football team and his club should honour that fact. While talking about different issues regarding career and performance the twenty-six year old said that some unfortunate issues usually happen as ups and downs are a part of the game. but we should keep our focus towards the best targets for the club. He added that a player signs a contract to play for his club and it should be his top priority because he is paid to play.
It is to be remembered that Liverpool FC was approached by Barcelona last year as well. But the bid presented last year was of sixteen million pounds which was later rejected by Liverpool as it was not fulfilling the desired amount of the Anfield management. Inter Milan also approached Liverpool for Javier Mascherano and the offer made by the Italian football club was later rejected by the current manager, Roy Hodgson, by saying that it was a joke offer and fax by the Inter Milan club.
Now that the problem of transferring the Argentinean skipper has been resolved successfully, some critics are taking the whole issue very seriously. According to some reports, football critics are of the view that Mascherano has been immensely overrated and the step taken by Barcelona was a daring step to acquire the defensive midfielder.
It is now up to the new football club of Javier Mascherano to utilize its newly added veteran to his full capacity and get best from him. For a fan it is good news because the twenty-six year old Argentinean was not feeling comfortable in England hence was not able to deliver his best.
