Evaluate exactly: tan^-1(3^(1/2)) or the inverse tangent of negative root three?

  1. Remember your basic geometry.  Specifically, the 30-60-90 right triangle (or pi/6 - pi/3 - pi/2, if you prefer) and the fact that tangent is opposite over adjacent.  You should be able to get it from there.

    YOu meant arc tan of "Square root of 3"?

    That's not calculus...that's just pre-cal.....

    If I understood it right...it's asking what angle IT'S tan will give you a square root of 3.....

    That should be easy enought is it?

  4. I guessing ur saying: "What's the inverse tangent of the square root of three?" I think. that the tangent of 30 degrees is the square root of three. So the answer would be 1 I believe.
