1. 3d + 6 < 6

    3d < 6 - 6

    3d < 0

    d < 0

I really don`t know how to explain it. I probably made a mistake on it but hope I helped a little.

  2. 3 (d+2) < 6

    Multiply out (3 x d and 3 x 2) so its 3d + 6 < 6

    - 6 from either side (treat < as an equal sign atm)

    so its 3d < 0

This means that a number multipled by 3 has to be less than 0

Now divide each side by 3 so its d<0 (thats your answer)

You can try it out with anything, substituting d with any value less than 0

    e.g. -1

    so 3(-1+2) < 6

    multiply out to make -3 + 6 < 6 which is right because -3 + 6 is 3 and 3 is less than 6

  3. divide both sides by three = 2

    subtract 2 = 0

    so d = 0
