In a fishing contest,the two largest bass weighed a total of 22 pounds. The first-place bass weighed 8 pounds more than the second-place bass.Find the weights of the first and second place bass. WOULD YOU PLEASE GIVE ME AN EQUATION TO HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!DON'T GIVE ME THE ANSWER!!!I WANT TO FIGURE IT OUT ON MY OWN!!!

  1. the equation would be....

    22= (8+n) + n  


  2. lets say the first place bass is x

    which makes 2nd place bass x+8

    we know the total so x+(x+8)=22

    i think i am right : S
