Maximum speed?

Question

If I'm going the maximum speed limit, why am I in your way? and why do people pass you by using a turn lane? I'm not upset I just wonder if there's any really good reasons. Thank you in advance

For quite some years now, the "Me first" attitude has affected many drivers.  That coupled with the belief that they are  saving time by speeding, causes poor and sometimes, reckless drivers. If a person is starting from point A and is going to point B, a distance of 60mi, travels at 60mph, it will take a little over 1 hr.  This is because of the acceleration from a 0 stop to a speed of 60mph and de-acceleration from a speed of 60mph to 0mph. Vehicle manufacturers all tout the acceleration factor, ie: 0-60 in 6 secs., speed instead of safety.  A person travelling at 60mph is going 1mi/minute; whereas a person doing 80mph is going 1.333mi/minute. So in order to save 1.33 mins, the driver is risking not only a speeding ticket but endangering themselves if an accident occurs.

Its just like Road Rage.....................

The seeds of Road Rage may have been planted hours, days, or weeks ago, perhaps even years before.

They may have had an argument with their boss, a co-worker, or their spouse.

Maybe they are having trouble with their children or dealing with other problems.

Whatever their situation, they have been holding in the problems for so long that when an ordinary annoyance happens, like what happen to you, all their frustration finally comes boiling out...................................

Please try and follow the rules of etiquette while on the road and ensure that "you" are not responsible for causing an accident. The fast lane is for passing and also where more accidents occur. Stay out of the fast lane unless passing, drive at the traffic (not necessarily posted) speed and give plenty of room between vehicles and things will usually work out fine. If someone else is driving dangerously or angrily, get out of their way. Following the above rules has been very helpful for me. Also see the link below. I found it very useful.

bcuz no1 actually does the speed limit most people go 5-10mph over and people who do the speed limit such as yourself are considered slow drivers

Don't worry eventually they will get tickets, though they think they won't. Just let them do it, don't let it bother you.

People are impatient, that is all, some people don't realize that it is a speed LIMIT, and not a speed REQUIREMENT.
