McCanns: the 'silly season' ?

Just when we thought that the story McCann had ran its course, the 3 Arguido's were no more and missing Madeleine slipped from the news; the McCann lawyers manage to get hold of the Portuguese files and promptly drip feed the UK press. As with every summer (perhaps bar last year when the McCanns were on the front pages) there is little news to report, so any scrap thrown to the tabloids by Team McCann is printed as gospel. Sadly it took a dreadful war (South Ossetia) and the dreadful Olympics coverages to get the McCanns off the front pages again.

What is it with our love of McCann stories ? and what is it with the UK's awful press ?

The reason that the tabloid newspapers will continue to report "news" regarding the McCanns, is that many people have come to the conclusion that they are not without guilt themselves and cannot believe their brass neck in painting themselves as victims.  People want to know what bile they are coming out with now.

They dumped their kids in a foreign country.  They showed no remorse.

I can't belieeve u are still obsessed with the McCann story, i have been away from answers for so many months now and just looked in today to see if i can see some old faces and bamm!! u were actually the 1st person i saw. Get a life, go to ur local pub, drink some beer, do something, just get off the computer sometimes.

I think it's sad and of course feel for her family but there are thousands of missing children out there, the focus of the media should not just be on 1 child, they should do their best to make other missing children known to have a better chance of finding them.

On this one I have to disagree, the media were given the same files as the so called investigators each handed out by the PJ on DVD's

I completely sympathise with the McCanns - as do other parents - and I totally understand why they are keeping there daughter in the front of the news.

I do wish though that the pics that lead the stories were of Madelaine not her mum or dad - I mean, isn't that the idea of keeping her in the news to keep her face fresh in everyones minds??

We have the press we deserve. If we don't like the headline we shouldn't buy the paper- I don't. They will soon get the message.

I'm going to get completly slated for this but I'm sick of everyone saying they feel sorry for them. They left their children ALONE so the could go for a meal and get pissed. If they weren't doctors and didn't have money they would've been investigated for child neglect by now. Yes it's awful their child is missing but if they hadn't left her alone, she wouldn't be!

They (McCann's) make me sick.

No one loves the McCann's, they however love themselves.

Its is clear now that they have depleted half their 'fund' they are clutching at straws in an attempt to raise a few more bob. And getting their idiot spokesman to whip up a fuss in the press.

The 'I sold Maddie and Icecream - it was her favourite - Choc flavour' story hit a new low.

What would make better news would be Kate answering the  40 questions she declined to answer in portugal.

Well until justice is served for the forgotten abandoned and unloved one Madeleine, it will never go away. This suits the McConn's no end as long as the money is raking in and the press are happy to feed the gullible with the biased rot and stench filled lies. But try and challenge them and that won't be publicised, point out all the inconsistencies and lack of explanations or answers to questions and hey presto; another sighting!!! The UK press are spineless cowards and are reduced to swallowing the spew from Clarie windbags lying mouth but when the truth finally does emerge they will turn with such a vengeance the Mc's will want to be locked up...

they have the money to keep it going so were in it for the long haul it seems. its guilt i think and i have little sympathy when they leave there kids alone while they go out for a meal. just think they could be looking after my children in hospital yet they cant even look after there own. its madeline i feel for, but i doubt very much, as cruel as this may sound, that poor maddie is still alive, and if she is what a life she must be having, wondering where the h**l are parents are.
