Question:

Meadowlands to Manhattan?

I am visiting New York in August, and someone recommended that I stay at the Holiday Inn Express near the Meadowlands. I was wondering how accessible NYC was from that hotel via train or some other type of transportation. The price is the reason for staying there. Is it worth my time and effort, or should I try to stay closer to the city?

  1. well i know it's a 5 min drive across Lincoln Tunnel from there (always pass it on the bus ride to Giants Stadium), but I don't know of any public transportation. However, I'm almost 100% sure that a hotel that close to the city would give you some way of getting to Manhatan. And there probably is a bus that stops close to there. But I would reccomend staying in the city, cause it would just make everything a lot easier, you could just walk out and be in NYC. But that depends on how much you wanna pay a night, but  doubt that it would be significantly less at that Holiday Inn than anywhere (or some place) in Manhattan. BTW I live near the Carter  (43rd btwn broad and 8th) which is $89 a night but relatives stayed there once and it is completely disgusting, so be warned.

  2. Unless you have unlimited cash stay away from staying in the city. Medolands to mid town by bus 30 minutes if your driving 15 if bus is running late 45. If traffic indefinately.   LOL No just kidding have a great trip and go to La mella on Mullberry in Little italy for the best meal you'll ever have. Just tell them to feed you don't order... Oh you could stay by the Newark Airport that way your right there the monorail will take you to Newark Penn then the path to the city quick and cheap. But stay near the airport NOT IN NEWARK!!! Newark airport and surrounding.
