Mechanical Engineering CAE???

Question

What is Mechanical Engineering CAD (Computer Aided Engineering) ? what does it involve? and is it the same as CAD (Computer aided Design) ?

Well CAD in itself allows computers to help design components for devices and whatnot. Using features in Solidworksm, for example you can take those parts and make assemblies. You can also perfrom engineering analysis on those assemblies for stresses and strains. This is all done by the computer and this is where CAE comes into play...

So CAD is just designing

CAE is the analysis done on computer aided designs
