Medication and body size ?

Does it matter what size a person is when a Dr prescribes something for them? E.g antibiotics, should they be a different strength for a 120 kg person than for a 70 kg person? I know with kids they weigh them first, and paracetamol is given by body weight , why not other medications too?

  1. Some medications are given based upon body weight while some aren't. Antibiotics are less dangerous than narcotics, which would be more closely dosed per body weight.Paracetamol, (or acetaminophen) can cause liver damage in higher doses, so it's proper to regulate those more carefully when dealing with smaller people.
