Meeting people on a cruise?

mmkay, so, in early July I'm going on a 1 week cruise in Alaska.

Problem is: The only other person on the cruise that I know is my mom.

How can I meet other people my age there? Are there like teen clubs or something?

P.S.: What are cruises like?

  1. A big ship that romantic people they date or married & have hotel !!

    i wanna go !!

  2. Hey!

I'm sixteen and I've been on five cruises, so I think I can help you out with this one!  I've also been on an Alaskan cruise.

First of all, there are teen clubs on just about every cruise line.  Be sure to go to the orientation the first night so that you can start meeting people right away.  The teen clubs usually have activities such as karaoke, dance parties, scavenger hunts, smoothie parties, bracelet making, card games, video games, Guitar Hero tournies, and just about everything you can think of.  Just jump right in and start talking to people, and you'll have people to hang out with the rest of the trip!

On each cruise I have been on, the teen club was my favorite part of the cruise!  When I went to Alaska, friends that I made there are still my friends today, and it's been almost a year!  So it is very possible to meet great people.

Cruises are amazing.  Since you're going to Alaska, the ride might be a little rough.  It was when I was there.  If you're prone to motion sickness, pack seasickness medications.  If you forget them, don't worry.  You can always buy some aboard the ship.

There are shows nightly onboard in the theater lounge.  I recommend catching a few of those.  My friends and I went to see a comedian one night in Alaska and he was great!

Almost all food onboard is included.  On some lines, like Carnival, there is 24-hour pizza and ice cream.

There is food available for free from room service on many cruise lines.  Take advantage of this!  Tips are appreciated to the people who bring you your food.

A cruise is a wonderful experience!  Have fun on yours!

  3. Most cruise lines have teen clubs on board. Cruises are fun, its like a world on the water. Everything you need is there. Food, soft drinks all included in price. Just be yourself.

  4. There are clubs and activities (organized by the cruise line) for teens.  Meeting people your own age won't be hard.

Cruises are cool, I've been on 6 or 7 and loved them all (for one reason or another).

One thing.. You will be on the Pacific Ocean, which is rougher than other oceans (in terms of waves and 'boat rocking').  If you are susceptible to motion sickness, take Dramamine with you.

  5. well there are arcades that alot of kids hang out in but it depends on what cruise line you are going on. there might be teen stuff. ask at the customer service counter they should have schedules.   PS. cruises are really fun if you dont get seasick

  6. which one are you going on? i may be on the same one.

  7. go to breakfast and lunch in the dining room . you get different table mates every time, but on a cruise people are more open and just say hi and go from there. for some reason people seem to let there guard down and are more open. I have had some real interesting conversations and met some real interesting people on a cruise. every walk of life and defiantly people that i would never come across in my own life path .. hope you meet someone out of your normal life style have fun
