Question:

Melbourne nightlife??

A young male friend of mine recently went to Melbourne and commented on how hard it was for him and his friends to get in to a club in Melbourne CBD.

They were a group of well-dressed (designer jeans, nice shoes,) good looking, young men (21 - 25years old). But many bouncers turned them down. Even when they brought a group of pretty girls with them, the bouncers would let the girls in and stopped the boys.

It was about 9:30pm when they were trying to get in.

Were they just too early?

Or is it common culture in Melbourne to turn down groups of boys?

Why were they not let in??

  1. Sadly, some bouncers see groups of young men together as a bunch of "drunken idiots" later on.

9.30 was possibly a little early however they  would have been better to arrive as two or three together rather than as a group - they may have got in and could link up inside.

Pretty girls always will get in - again the bouncers choice - guess they pickup from there afterwards!

  2. Yea the bouncers be like that.  Unfortunately they also be racial profiling sometimes.
