As we know...basically to be a feminist. You just have to call yourself one...it isnt very hard.

So my self proclaimed Feminist, do you think "we" should have some kind of entry test, back ground test, top secret passwords.

ideas for what we should have?

  1. I think feminist has become a bad label. Sure, you can perceive yourself as a feminist, but it really isn't about the label. The important thing is what you actually do to support the feminist cause. For example, you can get in contact with NOW, join protests, raise money for women's shelters or for other cause s that support women, or many other things besides saying, "Hi. I'm a feminist." You don't need a password, you need initiative

  2. No, I strongly oppose trying to change the meaning of the term 'feminist' -- it HAS a definition.

If one wants to belong to some group, one is free to join whatever group they want.

Fortunately, it's not up to us at all.

  3. feminism is a concept- a way of thinking. Its not a club.

  4. I think that reading more than one piece of literature from more than one TYPE of feminist would have to be a requirement.

Said "feminist" should have read up on famous feminists to understand the extreme differences in views and opinions that feminists can have. WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME. The hateful comments from one category to the next must STOP!

While wikipedia has actually been neutrally edited on the topic of feminism, it should not be the only source of information for said "feminist".

Understanding important struggles and dates in history as well as the viewing the opposite opinions in a "willing to learn and observe other viewpoints" state of mind instead of a "stuck to my own opinion" mindset.

I can't say enough about research and actual understanding of what a feminist is. Half the bantering in this section clearly shows me that so many of the ranters aren't up to date on their readings and are way too full of hate for something they don't understand.

Note that bell hooks and Mary Daly aren't the same type of feminist. I'm not the same type as the person who posted this question, etc. etc. etc.

  5. Just start hating men. Everything else will come after that.

  6. Trust me from where I stand, I might as well be trying to appease a cult I know nothing about -- it's like a different world.

  7. I don't know, Rio was saying y'all had something going on at Diary Queen....

    lol

  8. Well, the only requirement I know of is that you have to be a complete b*tch. It's not hard to test for so I don't understand why there isn't a test for membership.

  9. Oh please, what requirements does the r****d women hating misogynists club have? anyone?

hey azreb:  THAT makes you a feminist. Learn. All it means is that women should not be treated like slaves. The word although it has "fem" in it really just means men and women should be treated equally in the eyes of the law.

  10. There should be an intelligence test, a membership payment, random inclusion in one orgy of their choice and a secret handshake/buttslap just so other feminists can be identified.

  11. Let's just make sure they pass the physical fitness exam. There are lower standards for women, natch. ;)

  12. Lol maybe we should steal the Freemason idea and call ourselves Freemaidens?!  I even know a few of the secret signs we could use - handshakes and how to toast someone over a drink, whaddya say?  :-)

  13. what if i beleave that man and woman are the same what does make me ????????????

  14. feminism is wrong equal rights fair enough but hating men. get over yourselves
