Are the nets used in International/Olympic play higher than the men's high school/college standard 7'11 5/8"?

    Well, I believe that international net is NOT higher, but...

    per the book, international men's net is 2.43m (243cm), which equals to 95.669in (http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_c... while US men's net goes to 7'11-5/8", which equals to 95.625in. From that stand point, yes, international men's net is about 0.044in higher. These are heights at the sideline of the court, so that there is variation at the middle depending on how tight the net was set up. I would not be able to tell any difference if it is only 0.044in in difference.

    It's not 0.044in higher either.  It's just the difference due to rounding in conversion between meters and inches which is really negligible.
