Merchandise from retail stores

Question

Could anyone tell me what do big stores like target and walmart do with their leftovers like the clothes they didnt sell for this season?? what about the electronic and clothes returns??? what do they do with all that merchandise? let me know please, thanks in advance

Retailers will keep discounting them down within a schedule to they sell, some if they don;t sell will write them off and donate them to charity, If items are returns, they try to return for credit, if not they will do the same as with out of season merchandise, if the items are to badly damagewd or unusable , they will right them off and throw them away/

Clotheing is discounted until it sells...anything that is left is donated to local charities...Damaged clothing goes in the compactor, and the landfill

Electronics and what is known as hard lines is discounted until it sells or returned to the mfg for credit...
