Mexican car insurance?

Question

Can anyone in Mexico tell me what kind of coverage you get from liability coverage.

To be more specific are they forced to pay "Punitive Damages" for negligently injuring someone or are all bills medical and otherwise relating to the accident the only coverage you get.?
