well it is depends fo where you are, and where exactly are you planing to visit in mexico, I shall tell you that you should come to baja california it is a very nice place to visit, probably it is more expensive than other parts of mexico, but it is nice and secure, also I can tell you where you can get  rasonables prices, in cabo or la paz
