Is he the best ? maybe one of the best ? yes

But what kind of defenders he had to go against ?

Joe Dumars 6'3 , 190 pound Guard against detriot series

Byron Scott - 6'3 , 195 pound Guard in 1991 Finals ( never made All-Defensive team ever )

Kevin Johnson - 6'1 , 190 pound Point guard in 1993 Finals ( never made All-Defensive team ever )

Clyde Drexler - 6-7 in 1992 Finals( never made All-Defensive team ever )

Gary Payton - 6-4 , 180 pound Point Guard in 1996 ( sure he had steals .. but so does CP3 )

John Stockton 6-1 , 175 pound Point guard ( only made all-defensive 2nd team 5 times in 18 years )

Bryon Russel 6-7 220 pound ( but never made defensive team or offensive team ) in 2 season vs jazz in Finals

So .. is these guys you say Kobe Bryant can score on ? is these guys thats gonna shut down Kobe Bryant ? lol

  1. Jordan is one of the best, but what puts him so in front in your mind, is that he has such class.  He has fabulous talent but also this good attitude.  I swear I have never seen Michael Jordan be unsportsman like.  He rises above it and just plays the game.

  2. I think he is one of the best.  Personally, from his era, I'd go with Magic Johnson.

  3. d**n, why is there a question like this everyday. This is why Kobe fails, because people keep comparing him to MJ. Just because you don't make the all defensive team doesn't mean you are not a good defender. Is James Posey all defense, no, but he gave Kobe h**l.

  4. well i think he is the best but there cant be a person that's the best. i think kobe and lebron are the best too

  5. Bryan\s lover. Unffair those defensive are old as M.J.

  6. jordan only has to go against one man at a time.  kobe has to go against 2-3 because of zone defense.  and double teamings that weren't legal in jordan's time.

thats y kobe is the better individual player he has to play against multiple players and wins whereas jordan only plays against one man but he destroys whoever he plays against, exception being dumars.

but jordan was better overall, his defense when young was great but got worser and worser as be became older.  jordan was also extremely clutch and extremely marketable.

  7. Tell them boyfriend Kobe gets guarded by the best players

  8. Clyde Drexler, Gary, and John are all Hall Of Famers so don't hate on them.

  9. HAHAHA wow you are completly delusional man thats just silly!! You honestly think that thats who guarded Michael......honestly in your brain you think that!!! He was constintly double teamed if not tripled teamed by the best defender on the team he was playin at the time at all times.........not the small scrawny point guards. Seriously turn on ESPN classic and watch MJ play you will be amazed

P.S. Its like sayin look who guarded Kobe:

                      Steve Nash 6'3 175lbs

Ray Allen 6'5 205lbs...........and so on its just dumb

  10. You know this ridicolous argument isn't going anywhere. I could point out weak defensive players that guarded Kobe as well.

  11. He's one of the best of all time.

Here's the thing, Jordan was much stronger than Kobe physically. That allowed him to overpower most of his defenders. Jordan was like a miniscule LeBron back in the 90s. He did a lot of post up and could score at will in the paint sometimes against much bigger defenders.

Kobe, on the other hand, is much weaker but he is a much better shooter. Kobe scores most of his points on jumpshots from mid range to long distance and that also accounts for his lower shooting percentage then Jordan.

  12. Jordan is far and away the best. The NBA has changed the rules of the game so it is now so much easier to play like Jordan, and their still not on his level. Now days guys can drive to the hole and you can't touch them or they will be at the line. Back then you had to have more skill and toughness to drive in the paint. h**l Lebron shoots close to 30 free throws a game. If Jordan did that, he would have averaged 60. And don't get me started on defense. I could go on all day, but since you even asked this question, you really don't know the game.

  13. Jordan would own Kobe.
