According to reports in France, the France international has reached an agreement with Rudi Garcia’s side to have his contract terminated which means that the Frenchman is now a free agent
According to reports in French media, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international, Mickael Landreau has parted ways with Ligue 1 giants LOSC Lille following the club’s 1-0 defeat in their last group game of this season’s edition of the UEFA Champions League against La Liga side,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863. According to L’Equipe, the former Ligue 1 champions decided to terminate the 33-year-old’s contract with the club from the north of France.
Although the news is yet to be confirmed by Les Dogues, it has been suggested that Lille’s Ligue 1 game against Bastia last weekend was Landreau’s last for Rudi Garcia’s side.
To explain what would indeed be a real bombshell, L’Equipe claims that the France international asked the club’s management to terminate his contract following the deterioration of his relationship with club coach Rudi Garcia.
The French tactician had lost faith in the former Paris Saint-Germain custodian following his below-par performances in recent months. However, the news is still a surprising one for Lille fans as Landreau had been an important part of the club’s success
in recent times.
Reports claim that Landreau’s relationship with club’s deputy director Frederic Paquet and Rudi Garcia no longer remained amicable which is the main reason why the Frenchman asked for his contract to be terminated.
Now, it appears that summer signing Steeve Elana would be the club’s new number 1 as Landreau leaves the third club in his career with the previous clubs being Paris Saint-Germain and FC Nantes. And, if the news regarding the contract termination is confirmed,
it would also raise question marks regarding Landreau’s future for the France national side.
Currently the third-choice custodian, the 33-year-old would be looking to find a club quickly if he is to avoid missing out on his sessions for the national side at Clairefontaine. With the likes of Stephane Ruffier (AS Saint-Etienne) and Cedric Carrasso
(FC Girondins de Bordeaux), also in great form, Landreau will struggle a lot to stamp his authority as Les Bleus’ third-choice goalkeeper.
