Microsoft Flight Simulator fans?

Hi, I'm really getting into Flight Sim X so i was wondering if anyone could give me a link or 10 to some good sites to download FULL planes that work with Flight Sim X.

I've been to a few sites but there are mostly just repaints available.

Also, is it worth paying the cash to download from sites where you have to pay? Are the planes/scenery there better than the freeware ones?

Any response is appreciated, thanks.

  1. Take it to the toy section. This is getting rediculous.


  2. Try [free] sites such as Simviation, Avsim, FSDownload, etc. There's a lot of them out there, but I can't remember them all!

    And yes, they are almost always "full" planes that would work with FSX.

    And no, it's not worth paying to download from sites. They usually stock the same aircraft/scenery, etc. as the free sites, so there's no real point.

    i suggest u buy add-ons

    not being funny, but the freeware is absolutely terrible compared to bought add-ons.

    i mainly use Just Flight

  4. I agree with the above said; buy the add-ons!

    One of the best and most popular out there is the PMDG series! Particularly the 747 and 737 (a real pleasure to fly). If you're that much of an enthusiast, then you'll understand the full potential in these planes, if not, you'll find them difficult to fly.

    They have been simulated to close precision, and they contain so many little switches etc. that are modeled from the real series. So the bought ones are the best, and as someone mentioned, the free one's are terrible! They usually contain little or no cockpit; as if Microsoft's modeling is bad enough, these are either rip-off models where people have just copied the gauge files from other airplanes, or contain next to no functionality what so ever (and no virtual cockpit!).

    So aim for the ones where you have to pay :-)
