Microsoft update needed?

Question

We just purchased a Mixsonic mp3/mp4 player Model MX-4096MD from overstock.com. When we tried to install it, we received a pop-up message warning that this software did not have a microsoft logo for XP and they did not recommend proceeding as it could cause damage to our operating system. Can you tell me what I need to do to fix this problem? I cannot find a site to download a fix.
