Midland Credit help?

My fiance was engaged to another woman before he met me and now the ring he purchased for her(well, whats left of the debt) has been purchased by this collection agency. We can not afford to pay this, and it has to be at least 6 or 7 yrs old. Somehow they've got my number for him, and they call all day long. Should I just tell them they have the wrong number, ignore it , or try to make a payment arrangement? Either way, I know that what we can afford to pay won't satisfy them. Please Help. I don't know what to do.

  1. if the account is 7 yrs old i wouldnt even bother to pay it since it can only remain on his credit file for 7 years. it should be falling off his report any time after the date of last activity, so i say just be patient....

  2. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and avoid bankruptcy. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate.I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

  3. If you have told them that they have the wrong number I would send them a letter (certified mail return receipt).  Explaining that they have continued to call you after you have explained on repeatedly that they have the wrong number.  List your phone number and let them know that you are expecting all calls to cease immediately and will consider it harassment if they continue.

  4. You can use credit repair agency to fix your credit - for example this one - http://freecreditreport.sinfree.net - They can clean lots of bad stuff from your credit report - and do it much faster than yourself, so your credit will go up fast.
