  2. The IRS allows 48.5 cents per mile driven to be claimed.  This does not include mileage that would normally be driven to work on your daily commute.  So if you have a 20 mile commute to work and you drive 75 miles for work that day, you can claim $.485 x 55 miles, or $26.68.

    Your company can choose to reimburse at any rate they like.  With luck, they will choose the maximum rate allowed by the IRS.  If they reimburse less, you can file for the difference on your tax return.
