Miley for a girl's name?

Question

I am so in love with the name Miley for a girl. Is it too awkward it is the same name as an up and coming pop artist? Or what if she becomes the next Britney and turns out to be a whack job? Then my daughter would be named after her? When I ask family and friends their opinion they say "like Miley Cyrus?" I actually love Hannah Montana, and don't get me wrong I know Britney is working on her strong comeback, but should I name my daughter Miley? (This is the first name I have felt really good about and if you don't like it how about some suggestions?)

How many people are named Brittney out there or Lindsay!! I'm sure they don't care! It's the NAME that counts if you really think Miley is a beautiful name, then name her Miley. Just don't actually think about MILEY CYRUS. Think of your daughter MILEY!

Well I love the name Miley, I'm actually going to name my daughter that, I mean honestly... do you really think that anyone will even be thinking about Miley Cyrus by the time your daughter is old enough to get made fun of? Doubtful.

Miley is alright for a girl's name. And it sounds like a happy name.  Just don't think of what they say about this name. How you will bring her up  that counts.

Well, ever since Miley Cyrus stepped into the limelight, that name has been going up in popularity. Don't forget all the HannahMonScandel thats going around. And plus, your little girl may have a lot of people in her class that have the same name.

But, if you honestly do like it, go for it. Its cute sounding, but still, be careful.

Please don't, for two reasons.

1. She'll have the same name as Miley "EWWW" Cyrus

2. It's getting really popular now

When she's a teenager and if you give her that name, I hope she doesn't walk around saying "Why did my mom give me the same name as S****y, non-talented, stupid, Miley Cyrus?".

Please don't name your daughter a name that came from the nickname "Smiley".  It's just so silly.  Give her a good, strong name that will carry her into adulthood:  Caroline, Claire, Katherine, Kathleen, Elizabeth, etc.  She'll thank you for it.

their are tons of Britney's out there and just because your name is Britney people don't instantly think of Spears, so i don't think that will be a problem with Miley to, (even though it is a less common name) i personally love the name Miley i did hear it first on Miley Cyrus but i didn't know she was that big (i live in Spain so we don't even know who she is hear really) i would go with the name, all stars have the same name as someone "normal" lol, its a really pretty name and i dont think because she has the name it will cause problems.

Yes - I would not worry about Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana. Miley Cyrus was NOT even her real name until April of 2008. She was given the birth name of Destiny Hope Cyrus, and her nickname growing up was 'Smiley' and she could not prnounce the s as a three year old so she called her self 'miley' and it stuck.  It would not be naming your daughter after her, since it is not really her name.
