Question:

Milk causes upset stomachs?

Whenever I drink more than two cups of milk, my stomach sometimes grumbles loudly afterward for a few hours. Sometimes it even results in diarrhea. I am not lactose intolerant because I can eat cake and milk products just fine. Well except whenever I drink a lot of milk. Does anyone know why this happens and how to maybe prevent it?

  1. I am the same way and it sounds like you are lactose intolerant.  One’s severity of symptoms and tolerance levels varies person to person.  Just because you can have some some things that include milk products and they don't have any affect doesn't rule out that you could be lactose intolerant.  Dairy products have different levels of lactose and milk has a very high amount.

  2. Don't drink so much milk then. I can eat cheese and other dairy products to except when it comes to milk. If I drink a glass of milk I'll get an upset stomach and feel like throwing up. Try drinking soy milk I promise it tastes great :]
