Mini cooper vs. scion xB?

Question

i am 17, turning 18 in March.

i want a nice, eco friendly car to take to college.

my dad has agreed to match whatever i make to

buy a car.

i would really like either a mini cooper or scion xB.

i will probably get used ones.

what do you think would be a better/safer choice for me?

I think you should aim both of those towards each other then throw a brick on the gas pedal.  They are both piles of c**p.  Get a honda civic if your really die hard about going green.  They have superb gas mileage and dont look like a barbie car.

Very safe, very nimble, very quick, and not as butt-ugly and comical looking as an xB.

The Mini is also more aerodynamic than that brick called the xB, so you'll get decent mileage.

Mini Cooper all the way! I am the same age as you and I love mine. That get good mileage and have a serious "fun factor" as well as having the same safety ratings as the Honda Civic.
